PAXTON INTERNATIONAL RESOURCES LTD. - Timber Sale
Licence Award
British Columbia Forests Minister Jim Doyle has awarded
a two-year timber sale license to Paxton.
"Paxton has a proven track record in the Kamloops area,
and the company continues to invest and create jobs," said
Doyle. "These are the kinds of firms our government
wants to work with to bring capital investments and new jobs
to forest-dependent communities throughout B.C."
Paxton, a significant force in the post and rail business,
is recognized for its expertise in operating very sophisticated
and specialized cut-to-length harvesting equipment. Paxton
is particularly adept at thinning operations, a requisite
of good forestry practice. In addition to a significant investment
in the logging equipment, the mill at Monte Lake, B. C. includes
a post peeler and doming machine that peels, points and rounds
the tops of the posts, a Benzer rounding machine that turns
orchard props, a chipper, and a treating plant.
Timber sale licence A58232 is for about 22,500 cubic metres
of timber from the Kamloops forest district in the Kamloops
timber supply area.
