PAXTON INTERNATIONS RESOURCES LTD. - Y2K Implications
Paxton International Resources Ltd. and current subsidiaries
will not face any material business or information implications
as a result of the century change.
The two operating subsidiaries Pacific Calcium, Inc., and
Paxton Forest Products Inc. are both resource-based producers.
The extent of technology is limited to operating machines,
such as loaders, trucks, and milling equipment. Neither operation
relies exclusively on any one supplier nor are there any
suppliers, which supply critical, operating materials. The
customers of both operating companies are agricultural in
nature. (i.e., Orchards and Farmers).
The only Y2K problem encountered was with the Asoma Unit
in the treating plant at Paxton Forest Products Inc. The
Asoma Unit is used to measure the treating in a post and
date the post for best before date. This unit is not critical
to the operation of the plant, but has been updated to recognize
the century change.
The information systems of all operations are very basic
and are limited to stand alone personal computers and one
small local area network. All computers use Windows 95 or
higher and are at least Pentium 1’s. All programs and
software packages are Y2K compliant.
