Company History
Today, after various acquisitions and reorganizations, Paxton
International Resources Ltd. is a multinational company with
a diverse set of activities. However, it wasn't always that
way.
The company commenced operations in 1986 as a producer of
post and rail products located at Monte Lake, BC. In 1997,
Washington state based Pacific Calcium, Inc. was acquired,
followed by the acquisition in 1998 of Nature's Intent Environmental
Products, Inc. , another Washington state company. Both of
these companies produce organic fertilizers -- Pacific Calcium
manufactures mainly limestone soil amendment products in prilled
form, while Nature's Intent products are blends of various
organic elements.
To reflect a more diverse corporation, in late 1998, the
company name was changed to Paxton International Resources
Ltd. The forest products business was transferred to a newly
formed corporation -- Paxton Forest Products Inc. The end
result left the company as a holding company with all operations
being conducted by the wholly-owned subsidiaries.
In December 2002 Paxton International Resources Ltd. formed
Washington Pacific Industries, Inc., another Washington state
based company. In late December 2002, Washington Pacific Industries
purchased land, buildings and equipment in Entiat, WA. The
Entiat facility manufactures wooden components for use in
housing, furniture, playgrounds and other wood products. The
head office of Washington Pacific Industries, Inc. is in Tonasket,
WA where custom lumber products are produced and a reload
facility operates.
